FROM COAST TO COAST
Sustainable Youth Canada (SYC) is a youth-led and volunteer-run nonprofit with chapters across Canada, providing a platform for young people to lead and engage in environmental initiatives. We act as a gateway into climate organizing by offering a national network of committed peers, essential tools for tackling local environmental issues, and mentorship throughout the process.
Each region of SYC hosts various youth-led, grassroots, local initiatives, such as citizen-science projects, awareness campaigns, and volunteer opportunities, while collaborating nationally to advocate for systemic changes through participation in public consultations and conferences. Our mission is to engage, educate, and empower youth to become effective environmental leaders on both local and national levels.

IDENTITY
At SYC, we create a common identity that connects high school and university students from across the country to make a united stand for sustainability. Nationally, SYC provides the framework for each affiliated region to succeed, allowing youth from across the country to connect with each other, strategizing and sharing resources to tackle key issues in energy, social, and environmental sustainability.
With partners like IBM, the Ministry of Education, and the David Suzuki Foundation, SYC is integrating sustainability into the curriculum and beyond.
INVOLVEMENT
Our members walk the sustainability walk. Each one of our affiliated regions hosts unique opportunities for high school and university students to get actively involved in making our world a better place to live.
At SYC, we are action driven. From holding conferences featuring Nobel Laureates and sustainability fairs showcasing local nonprofits & youth initiatives, to winter member retreats and shoreline cleanups, our mission is to engage, educate, and empower youth to become effective environmental leaders on both local and national levels.
